Folks! We're so excited to bring our Bal Folk band Vinta to town for an evening of folk dancing fun!
Our bandmates in Vinta are some of our closest friends and collaborators ~ our jam buddies for near a decade! With them we've recorded 9 EPs and a full length album that has earned the group a Canadian Folk Music Award. As a band, we've recently performed for dances in France, Belgium, and Germany where we had many beautiful and informative exchanges with other musicians and dancers. We can't wait to play our favourite tunes for you to dance to!
Expect:
~an intro to "Balfolk" dance workshop
~sets by Vinta for folk dances
~an open balfolk jam

6:30 - Doors open, ticket holders come on in!
7-8 Dance Workshop (Intro to Bal Folk dances, we'll teach some new ones for those who have come before, and show dances we'll be playing for in our set)
8:15-9:45 Bal with music by Vinta
9:45 acoustic jam and more dancing
